Skill Reality

Use case

Remote expert assist

The expert sees what the technician sees, annotates the view with step callouts, and the completed steps are logged as part of the work record.

The job to be done

When a technician encounters an unusual fault or an unfamiliar procedure, they need expert guidance immediately. Calling an expert on a phone means one hand off the equipment and a conversation based on verbal description alone. The expert cannot see the problem. Skill Reality connects the expert to the technician's glasses camera so guidance arrives in the technician's line of sight, both hands stay on the work, and the session is logged as part of the work record.

Before and after Skill Reality

Without Skill Reality

  • Technician calls the expert by phone, one hand off the equipment
  • Expert guides the technician based on verbal description alone
  • Miscommunication leads to repeated callouts for the same fault
  • Session has no record: what was done, when, and by whom
  • Expert time is consumed by calls that could be resolved faster with visual context

With Skill Reality

  • Technician initiates a remote session through the glasses, hands free
  • Expert sees the live camera feed and annotates the technician's view
  • Step callouts appear in the technician's line of sight in real time
  • Completed steps are logged as part of the work record
  • First-call resolution rate improves because the expert has real visual context

How Skill Reality helps

Connect, guide, and record in a single session

  1. 01. Technician initiates a remote session through the glasses

With a hands-free command, the technician opens a remote session. The expert receives a notification and joins the live camera feed. No phone required, no hand leaves the equipment. Supervisors can join remote expert calls from Teams.

  2. 02. Expert annotates the view with step callouts

The expert sees the equipment through the technician's glasses camera and draws annotations directly on the view. Step callouts, arrows, and labels appear in the technician's line of sight in real time.

  3. 03. Completed steps are logged as part of the work record

Each step confirmed during the session is logged with the technician's ID, the expert's ID, and a timestamp. The session record is attached to the work order automatically.
