What the camera does, and what it doesn't
Skill Reality shows work instructions in your smart glasses, one step at a time. At a few important steps, the glasses camera takes one picture so the step can be checked. This page explains what that means for you.
Check the gauge reads 75 °C

Questions and answers
For the people wearing the glasses
Written for workers, their union and HR. Where your employer decides something, we say so.
Printable one-pager- Does the camera record video all day?
No. There is no continuous video. The camera does not record your shift.
- When does the camera take a picture?
Only at steps your employer has marked critical, such as checking a gauge or confirming a guard is closed. The glasses take one picture of the work at that step so the step can be checked.
Your employer decides which steps are critical when they set up the procedure.
- Will my face be in the pictures?
The picture is of the work in front of you. If a face does appear, it is blurred on the device before the picture is uploaded.
- What is saved about me?
For each step: who did it, which procedure and step it was, the time, and whether the check passed. At critical steps, the picture is kept with faces blurred.
This is the same kind of record a paper sign-off sheet creates, made at the moment the step is done.
- Who can see my records?
People your employer gives access to, based on their role, such as your supervisor or the quality team. Your employer sets who can see what.
- How long are records kept?
Your employer sets how long pictures and records are kept.
- Can someone watch me live?
Only during a remote expert session. You start that session from the glasses when you want help, and the expert sees what your camera sees while the session is on.
- What can I ask for?
You can ask your employer which steps use the camera, what is saved about you, who can see it, how long it is kept, and for a copy of your own records.
Your employer decides how to answer. Privacy laws where you work may give you more rights; your HR team or union can tell you more.
