Wearable technology
Body-worn devices that deliver information or capture data while a worker's hands remain free.
Wearable technology in industrial settings refers to body-worn devices that deliver information or capture data while both of the worker’s hands remain free. Examples include display glasses, body cameras, and wrist-worn devices.
The industrial wearable market is focused on reducing friction for frontline workers: getting them information faster, capturing compliance data automatically, and enabling hands-free operation. The right wearable form factor depends on the task, the environment, and what kind of information the worker needs.
Skill Reality is device-agnostic. It is live on Meta Ray-Ban Display, in testing on RealWear, Vuzix and XREAL, and planned for other smart glasses. Display glasses are well suited to guided procedure work; rugged head-mounted devices suit loud, gloved environments.
